Blue & White Enamelware Colander ~ Flowers & Brass Handles
This vintage white enamelware colander is adorned with blue flowers and leaves, as well as thin, elegant lines and dots on the base and around under the silver chrome rim. The curved handles are solid brass and are screwed into the punch-dotted bowl, cushioned by soft washers underneath.
Besides acting as a kitchen staple, a colander offers great ventilation as a fruit "bowl"...or for breads...and a neat way to tidy up your counter space .
Colander has a diameter of 9.5" inches, 11" inches across including handles. It measures 5.25" inches high, and the round base measures 5.75" inches across. Item itself weighs 1 pound (lb.), 10.8 ounces (oz.). Excellent condition.
This month's March issue of "Ruby Read" features blue and white as a "bullet-proof color palette for the home". The article also goes on to say, "blue and white can make a distinct decorating statement in the home when introduced through accessories", such as this lovely piece of vintage kitchenware. "Aside from their compelling colors, vintage pieces carry intrinsic charm that adds character and history to a space." Enliven your kitchen with this winsome blue and white colander!
