Fabulous Native American Navajo artist Will Denetdale sterling silver pendant. This lovely hand crafted pendant features a phenomenal picture jasper stone that depicts a canyon and mountain landscape. Dark brown veins form the outlines with shades of light browns and yellows creating shadows and depth of various bluffs and a mountain range. An azure blue make up the sky. Every stone is unique, it is hard to imagine this came naturally from the earth. No doubt the artist spent time hand picking this for the centerpiece of the pendant. Polished to a glossy finish. The oval frame in sterling sets it off nicely.
FYI- Jasper was considered a sacred stone of protection for shamans of the Native American Indians during their magical practices and in continued adherence to the “old ways.” Jasper containing the yellow color protected and assisted in times of travel, both physical and spiritual; that which contained the red color induced health and re-birth, freshness in ideas and strategies; and Jasper containing the blue color was used to connect one with the “after” worlds.
Excellent condition. Signed on the back- Sterling W. Denetdale Navajo. Measures 2 1/4" long, including the bale, 1 1/2" wide. The extra large bale has an opening of 3/8".
