A spectacular 18k gold pendant from master goldsmith James Carter. A one of a kind design, the pendant has a modernist tribal appearance to it. Tiny pure gold wires create the design and then, in layers, the enamel (powdered glass) is built up. A firing process occurs between each layer, possibly being fired upwards of ten times. Resulting in gorgeous deep rich colors of aqua blue, royal blue silver and fiery red. with a solid black added for contrast.
This pendant is in 18K gold with a garnet drop dangling below. It comes in three sections and is articulated. It measures 2 1/8" in length and 1" wide. It is signed and dated and numbered. The bale is on a swivel and has a wide opening, 3/16"w x 3/8"l, to accommodate many different types of necklaces.
