Fabulous designer Etienne Aigner sterling silver "A" logo key chain. This oversized letter is just shy of 1 1/2" tall x 1 1/16" wide. Filling the interior is their signature Antic red in an opaque enamel. Three big Gucci/Mariner links form the chain that connect it to the section that holds the keys. Pulling out on the piece that holds the j-shaped catch in place releases it and allows you to open it. This is a rare piece and perfect for your designer collection.
Excellent vintage condition. No missing enamel. Light patina. Measures 3 1/4" total in length, 1 1/2" wide. It is loaded with hallmarks- Italy, 925, Mod. Dep (translates to registered or copyrighted) and the last stamp is too illegible to read.
In business since just after WWII, Aigner successfully apprenticed with Christian Dior and Cristobal Balenciaga. Traveled from Paris to New York City in 1950, to launch his brand in the American market. Also, at this time, perfected his "A" logo, based on his monogram, that simulates a horseshoe.
For the fashion designer collector, this very hard to find piece will make a perfect addition.
