A gorgeous hand painted bouquet of pale pink roses and blue forget me nots is the centerpiece for this ca 1930's Evans compact. Just beautiful against the pearlescent white background. The blue ring has a fleur de lis and foliage type scroll pattern, unique and really adds to the beauty of the piece. The outer ring of white comes with four more roses to highlight the design.
The rest of the compact is covered in a blue celluloid that starts out darker and fades to a pale. A silver plated metal forms the base. This is a nice complement to the overall look.
This is a double compact that includes the original powder puff with May Fair and Evans printed on it. Traces of powder still found inside. Opening the metallic two sided mirror, a full portion of rose colored rouge is still inside.
In excellent vintage condition with only very minor light surface wear and a bit to the silver plate. It measures 2 1/4" across.
A wonderful piece of history and for your vintage vanity collection.
