Fabulous piece of old Navajo jewelry. This sterling silver belt buckle features a large Freemasons symbol. It is inlaid with crushed turquoise and coral. Lovely hand stamped work frames it. The diamond shapes stand for medicine man's eye or watchful, wise. Along with teepees and sun marks. Well, figuring them out is half the fun of it.
Measures 3" x 2". The belt bar is 1 1/2". Signed on the back with a "bee" hallmark and Gay- for Begay. Research attributes this to a mark possibly used by Paul Begay.
Perfect for the collector of Native American or Masons.
Excellent vintage condition. Lightly buffed, but still has warm patina. This will polish as brightly as the new owner would desire. Unmarked, but acid tested for silver content.
