Scrumptious vintage 1960's copper bracelet with psychedelic swirls of orange, yellow, pink, and purple enameling on five curved circular disks. What is unique and not so apparent in the pictures is the fiery translucence of the orange. As it glows and provides depth and layering to the other opaque enamels. Candy for the eye.
About "Inga", Laurie Carlson Steger, is the artist behind the name. Over the forty five year span of the product, the jewelry was known as "Crafts by Inga", "Inga Enamels" and "Enamels by the Carlsons". As the jewelry became popular, she, along with the rest of the family worked to meet the demands of production. Working the kiln as a teen, she practiced her technique of creating the scrolling enamel on copper pieces.
Excellent vintage condition. No missing enamel. Only some wear to the copper links. "Inga" is etched into the last link on the end. Measures 6 3/4" long, 1 3/16" wide. Fits my 6 1/2" wrist perfectly, not too snug.
A fabulous treasure for the collector of mid century modern jewelry and anyone else adding to their vintage collection.
