Finely detailed antique Edwardian oval link bracelet (circa 1908), crafted in 9 karat rose gold.
This antique Edwardian bracelet was made in Birmingham, England in 1908. The 'day & night' style is represented with the larger oval links in a smooth unadorned design for daytime, and the smaller textured links nestled within the larger links representing the nighttime. An unusual find with the larger oval links (as opposed to the more commonly found curb links). The attractive oval links are hallmarked '9c' (9k gold content mark) on every other larger oval link, adding to the quality and craftsmanship of the bracelet.
A wearable piece of history with a lightweight feel and a bold look. A quality piece that you can wear and enjoy today and for many years to come.
The bracelet was sourced on our recent buying trip to Scotland.
The bracelet is in very good condition. Slight indentation evident to the heart padlock and one of the oval links.
Weight: 17.1 grams
Size & Measurements: The bracelet measures 6 1/2 inches in length. The large oval links measure 14mm wide (0.55 inches).
Metal & Hallmark: 9k rose gold. The bracelet is stamped with the Makers Mark "TH" followed "9" and "375" (gold content marks for 9 karat gold), followed with the Mark of Origin for Birmingham, UK (anchor on it's side). The final hallmark is the Date Letter sequence for the year 1908 (letter "i" in lowercase).
