My collection of children's books spans 5 generations. As a child something about books by this look alike couple always held my attention and sparked my imagination! I suppose because of the amazing drawings were lithographed directly on stone by the artist and printed in four colors giving a unique finish. The stories mainly involving historic characters and events were told in the fashion of anything is possible lessons. This is a 1935 first edition of the sixth published book by Ingri & Edgar. The story is a Norwegian folk tale told around Christmas. Published by Viking Press N.Y..!2" x 9" cloth backed pictorial boards with dust jacket. If you are in the market for any of their other works, let me know.
