This is a first edition of volume two of " Every Woman's Encyclopaedia " ,of which there are 8 in the entire set ( for sale by the way in my shop ). This volume has some issues on the cover as shown in photos, yet the binding is tight and all contents are in very good condition. The pages are all accounted for, clean and free of damage. This amazing book covers everything a woman could possibly need to know in running her home, children, marriage, social life, work, community and herself in Victorian Life. Every time I pick it up I discover something I did not notice or know before.Victorian women sure had their hands full and even if they had assistance ,I believe they could run circles around us today. The articles are broken done into sections such as, Needlework, Woman's Home, Children,Woman's Work, Marriage, Cookery, Dress, Religion, Recreations, Garden, Beauty, Pets, Antiques and many more. Some of my favorite articles under these sections include : Christian names and their meanings for boys and girls, recipes, fancy rabbits as pets, antique pewter, the herb garden, jewels, and fencing. the articles include many black and white photographs, full page color art, and black and white illustrations. A total of 720 pages filled with hundreds of ideas you can still incorporate into your life today. A very economical trip taking you and your loved ones back to Victorian Life!
