When first published in 1877 by Frederick Warne & Company in Great Britain, this beautifully illustrated and uniquely composed book was not so well received by booksellers. But when you combine such endearing illustrations by the days most prolific children's illustrator Walter Crane and the talents of colour expert engraver Edmund Evans how can you miss? It went on to be republished many times during the later 1800's and early 1900's and is being republished in today's market. This 56 page complete edition is filled with 50 color drawings by Walter Crane with 36 of the days most favorite musical nursery rhymes with musical scores. Minor shelf wear to edges but the rest is a collectors dream! Very good condition with fine covers, tight binding, vivid and deep colors and an all clean text. Lullaby and sleep tight!
