Lyle Saxon ( 1891-1946 ) was a New Orleans journalist for the Times Picayune and author of six books on the history of the city.His books have been relied on by historians to this day for his portrayals of the city and it's life.A local best seller since it hit the stands in 1929.This is a 1938 edition and was his 3rd published work.It gives a fascinating account of Louisiana's history beginning with the early French and Spanish settlers, chronicles two centuries of plantation life through slavery and beyond.It is with out it's dust jacket,but is signed without an inscription.In very good condition ,clean and tight,no torn pages.
