Bergere costume jewelry was with us from 1940 until 1970.Located in New York they sold high quality costume jewelry in high end department stores. Bergere was founded by Herbert Bergere and Jack Pohs and was sold to Amtel in 1972.I have always loved this 1960's set with clamper bracelet and clip earrings. On the bracelet, a huge kaleidoscope glass stone at 1" squared is multi-faceted in a pyramid shape which comes to a point. When gazed into color in shades of blue, pink, purple and green flash and dance and just seems to go on and on in depth. It is framed in a lovely shiny gold tone metal with a rope edged design and rest up above a gold mirrored surface. The clamper opens to 2" and the band is 1" wide with a circumference of 2 1/2”. The matching clip earrings are 3/4" x 1" and marked Bergere. A real show stopping design!
