This late Georgian heirloom is truly a " Masterpiece " of design! The complex design with attention paid to details was carefully crafted with all stones being individually cut and faceted. The graceful and elegant 18K gold (tested not marked) setting is amazing! Centered is a 3/4" x 1" giardinetti urn holding a flower with 13 rose cut diamonds in various sizes. Framing it out is a perfectly shaped crescent with an inner layer of 17old mine cut rubies with a total weight of approx.1.00 ct. The next layer out there are 22 rose cut diamonds that are set in triangles varying in size from small at the top to larger as they recede to the bottom. The outer layer of 15 diamonds also rose cut and set in in a stem design and range from big to smaller as they curve up. That is a total of 50 hand cut diamonds at approx.2.50cts. On either end of the pendent are the original oval shaped rings where it was at one time worn on a black velvet ribbon and tied at the back of the neck. The entire piece measures 1 1/2" high and almost 1 3/4" wide. The meticulous execution of this beauty and choice of gems and their facets (there must be thousands) because this little number sure does sparkle! Content Value****, Age Value (approx. 180 years old) ****, Rarity Value**********, and Sentimental Value well priceless. I offer you this Masterpiece (for it just sits and waits in the bank) for as someone once said to me," it really needs to be taken for a walk every now and then" and well, I just can't do it. Enjoy!
