A small unusual Christian religious puffy heart charm with a repousse design of the Virgin Mary on the front and an inscription in, I believe German, on the back in very fine antique script. The heart measures only 3/8" across and 7/16" tall. It is not marked but tests for sterling silver. The back has a phrase in what may be German but I actually cannot read it as this is not a language I have any familiarity with and so I cannot guess at the words in order to translate them. I showed several photos of the back to try to show the script clearly but although it is engraved very finely and expertly, it is not extremely legible, being that it is in script. There is a little hole at the bottom back that was present in finer antique puffy hearts and were made to allow gasses to escape when puffy hearts were made. The heart is in perfect condition and it weighs .7 grams.
