A very collectible vintage, but new in its original box, travel clock made by St. John Clothing, dating to the 1970's. It comes in its fitted box and still has its plastic film over the chrome top, the intact pull tab that will activate the battery, and its pamphlet in a plastic sealed pouch, which also contains a spare cell battery. Any scratches seen on the top of the clock are only on the plastic peel off film. The clock is covered in crystals on all sides with a chrome top that has St. John engraved into it. It has a mother of pearl or celluloid face. I spoke to a long time sales associate at St. John in Boston who has never seen this item and dates it to at least the 1970's, before she began working for them. This very collectible clock is even more desirable in today's fashions with haute couture clothing and accessories and decorative objects paying homage to Swarovski crystals. There is no description of the clock that is visible and I have not opened the pamphlet so I cannot say that the crystals are Swarovski but whether or not, they are of comparable quality. St. John's high end couture line of classic quality knit suits and casual wear are identified by their knit-in hem as opposed to a sewn in hem and their high quality tight knit woven wool, developed by Marie St John in 1962. It measures 2" by 2" by 1 1/2" tall.
