A Native American weaving, small rug, with its original tag from the trading post, dating to the 1960's. The weaving is a Yei weaving rug in its traditional style. The artist is Venora Watts, a Native American artist who is still alive and lives in the Southwest. The weaving is in excellent condition and is only in need a little blocking to correct the naturally rolled edges from storage. The weaving measures 17 1/2" x 13". Another of her weavings that is similar and only a little larger at 27 x 21 is currently offered in a gallery for $600. The workmanship is very fine as the close up photos show. It is an authentic Native American Navajo rug weaving for hanging. The colors are vibrant. I am selling it at only a slight premium to its 1960's price.
