A set of four antique oval buttons. The buttons are enameled in the center in black enamel with enamel decoration of roses and forget-me-nots. There are two roses and one forget-me-not on a background of black enamel. The oval buttons are rimmed in little Persian turquoise cabochon stones. The little turquoise framed enamel scenes are beautifully rendered and resemble an oil painting. The buttons measure 11/16" by 1/2". The enamel is in perfect glossy condition with no scratches even in the brightest light. They are set in gilt brass that has no wear. The stones are each set with four tiny little gilt dots around each one. The backs have a loop shank. There is perhaps a tiny bit of tarnish on the back of one of the buttons. One of the buttons is missing one stone. Perhaps the button collector may have spare parts in their collection or access to some in order to replace this one stone, as this button is seen in slightly different form and shapes. One of the buttons shows a very tiny amount of verdigris around a couple of the stones, just on the very rim of the stone's setting that is only seen through magnification.
