Renowned French sculptor and medalist G. Prudhomme designed this bronze medal to celebrate the return of Alsace France to France in 1919 at the end of WWI. The front relief of the medal features the word Alsace and a woman in traditional Alsatian costume. The reverse shows the roof line of an Alsatian town with its iconic Stork.
Signed G. Prudhomme 1919 in the lower right front corner. The edge of the medal has an indistinguishable mark next to the word BRONZE. The bronze retains its original patina and high relief. It measures 5 x 8 cm.
