I am pleased to offer a beautiful vintage artist signed silk screen or serigraph by Navajo artist Harrison Begay titled Hoop Dance. The silk screen was done by hand, with each color applied separately. It was framed in 1955.
Harrison Begay, Haashké yah Níyá, 'Warrior Who Walked Up to His Enemy', was born c. 1914 in White Cone, Arizona. He is a renowned Navajo artist, perhaps the most famous of his generation. Begay specializes in watercolors and silkscreen prints. He is the oldest living former student of Dorothy Dunn at the Santa Fe Indian School. His work has won multiple awards, and is exhibited in museums and private collections worldwide.
The work is in excellent condition. No apparent color fading, no stains or other issues.
The frame measures about 10 x 11 inches. Print sight is about 5 ¼ x 6.
