This vintage Kimono Obi sash, made in Japan, has colorful pink, cream, gold and black stripes. It is a gorgeous gros grain ribbon style of weaving. I do not know the fabric content. It retains its original tags from Japan, so perhaps someone who can read them will be able to tell. It could be used as a runner or as trim. The date, c.1920.
The fabric is unused. It is crisp and has no tears, holes or wear. There is consistent pale spotting that I have tried to photograph without much success. I believe this could be cleaned if done professionally.
The sash is 140 inches long x 6 wide.
