The deer on this vividly colored Pratt ware Staffordshire transferware plate reflect the Victorians' fascination with the natural world. A herd of deer are gathered at rivers' edge to take a drink of water. This would be a great accent piece in a lodge or cabin. No marks.
There is crazing on the back only; not visible on the front. No chips, cracks or repairs. The plate dates to about 1860.
The plate is about 7.25 inches diameter.
