French Mechanical Girl Pushing Carriage, 12 inches
This is a lovely antique French mechanical doll that needs a wood carriage and a wind-up key. Once those two pieces are in place, I believe that the girl walks with legs back and forth and pushes the carriage as she moves forward.
Her bisque head is in perfect condition and she is redressed in a lovely period appropriate French costume and a mohair wig. The head is attributed to Francois Gaultier. The hands have a metal peg underneath the wooden hands to fit into a slot in a carriage so it stays in place.
Condition: I cannot confirm if it is in working condition because I do not have a key to test it. I am pricing it accordingly. If you love a good project to work on, this one would be a fun one and a lovely display when completed.
