Abby Cady Cloth Doll this is a rare all cloth doll 25 inches known as the Abby Cady doll it was made by the Sewing Guild of the Christ Church, the First Protestant Episcopal Church of Indianapolis founded May 7, 1838. The dolls were made by the church from 1875 and the following 50 years. She is a hard to find doll and is in very nice condition with some age. She has an oil painted face and hair, on a 3 seam head. There was an article in the October 2003 issue of Antique Doll Collector on this rare doll. She has an all cloth body with mitten hands with stitched fingers and layers of underwear and an early probably original dress and leather shoes. This is a great addition to a collection of American made dolls.
