Milliners Model. She is a 16 ¾ inch milliners model with a paper mache shoulder head doll on the original kid body with wood arms and legs. The doll has molded and painted features and long spiral curls. There is a small rub on the tip of the nose. She is an early doll around 1840. She has old leather reinforcement just above were the legs attach to the body it is very sturdy, we were able to see it because a seam was open on the pantaloons. The clothing is sewn on so the body cannot be photographed but there appears to be no other repairs. The doll is wearing a light wool dress with some age wear spots, white underwear, slip and pantaloons. She is a great larger doll with no repainting.
