Remarkable antique Memorial Necklace Clasp, dating to the late 18th Century. A rare and seldom found piece. Depicts a wonderful landscape scene two Love Birds atop a Tomb Stone with a Latin inscription "Amor Vincet Omnia", which translates to "Love Conquers All". The Tomb sits within a landscape surrounded by trees and foliage. Wonderfully detailed scene. Note the ornate design along the Gold border. The Antique Jewelry Clasp releases on one end (see photos) and is otherwise identical on each side with holes for stringing. Beautifully made and in wonderful condition, with the exception of a chipped crystal at one end. The piece measures 7/8" x 1 3/8". Shows well in the photos though note a few photos are a bit blurry. Photographs taken with and without a camera flash. Item was assayed at 14K Gold.
