Antique Memorial Brooch / Pendant with a Gold back and beautifully painted scene, painted on the back of the Crystal (therefore the cracked crystal cannot be changed). The Memorial Brooch dates to the 18th Century. The beautifully painted scene depicts two figures crossing a bridge, with trees and houses, along with a mounted Cross. Beneath the bridge is a man fishing; note the detailing of the water ripples. The spatial relationships of the painted scene is remarkable. The backed in gold (assayed for 14K), with a C-Clasp and small link at the top where a chain could run through to wear this piece as an antique Memorial Pendant. Measures 5/8" wide x 1 1/8" high. Shows very well in the photos. Photos taken with and without a camera flash. Bright and dark areas are reflections of the room while being photographed.
