This is an outstanding double strand Pearl Necklace, of remarkable size and true beauty. The vintage Cultured Pearl Necklace dates to the early 20th Century, Art Deco period, circa: 1920.
The Pearls are very large, graduated in size and well matched in color, all with a gorgeous matching luster. Not something easily achieved in nature. The largest Pearls at the center measure 10.5 mm - 11 mm, while the smallest Pearls measure 5 - 5.5 mm. The vintage Pearl Necklace is a good length, measuring 17 - 17 1/2" long. The Pearls can be described as a warm white, with some natural blemishes. The photographs were taken with and without a camera flash, on different color backgrounds and lighting; which accounts for the variations in color.
Each Pearl is knotted between with a pretty 14K White Gold Filigree clasp that sparkles in light and was designed to resemble the sparkle of Diamonds. The Clasp plunger is marked: 14K with an S inside a circle (probably the maker's mark) and on the reverse side it's marked: 95265. The Pearls have a silky feel in the hand and good heft.
The model shows the Pearl Necklace worn with the clasp in the back and off to the side. They sit beautifully on the neck. Their size and presence makes a statement. Very feminine and strong. This spectacular vintage Pearl Necklace is in very beautiful, fine condition. Photos show the Pearls well and is even prettier and more substantial in person!
