Late Victorian 14K Gold Diamond Pendant / Diamond Brooch with a fine and sparkling Diamond in the center. The design is referred to as a Scatter Pin...it resembles an open-work floral motif or pinwheel. The Diamond is of exceptional quality....it is like looking through water with tremendous sparkle. The appraisal notes: (approximate) 74 point European Cut Diamond to be of GIA Color K and GIA Clarity VS2. The stone and mounting are an exquisite match. The gold is a warm yellow gold (assayed to confirm carat at 14K) and the whiteness of the Diamond is beautifully complimented by the simplicity of the mounting. The overall diameter of the antique Victorian Brooch / Pendant 1" inch diameter and it weighs approximately 4.8 grams. To wear as a Diamond Pendant, the hinged bale on the reverse lifts up and a chain would then slide through the ring at the top. To wear as a Diamond Brooch, the bales tucks away on the back. This is an exceptional piece of jewelry. Versatile and elegant. It shows well in the photographs and even prettier in person. The photographs were taken with and without a camera flash.
