Lovely and unique, small antique round Sterling Silver Box with a gorgeous Black and White Wedgwood Cameo set into the lid. The Box dates to circa: 1900. The Black and White Wedgwood scene depicts beautifully articulated winged cupids surrounding a robed figure with nature shown as a tree. The Lid and base are rimmed with a patterned border. The Box is marked on the bottom: Benziger Bros., Sterling, 7004 (the company's pattern number). The Wedgwood is imprinted on its underside. The antique Wedgwood Box measures approximately 1 1/4" inches in diameter by approximately 1/4" deep. It is lovely just to be admire but it can be used to hold mementos, a Ring, Earrings, Cufflinks, etc...and other mementos. The Sterling will shine up beautifully. Note normal surface scratches to the Silver and small areas of aged oxidation and on the reverse––the rectangular area is where our inventory tag was and will hand polish out beautiful be hand polished before shipping. This is a very pretty antique signed Box and shows well in the photos and best in person. The photographs were taken with and without a camera flash. This is a truly unusual and stunning piece.
