Beautiful and quite unusual Antique Continental Silver Box late 19th Century with a finely engraved design on the Lid and on the bottom. In the center of the lid is a wonderful elaborate, gilted bass-relief design/monogram. An embossed design along the outside, undulating sides of the Box a stone wall. The Lid opens on the hinge and reveals traces of the gilted interior. The inside has some scratches in the surface, from the trinkets it once held. The Box is unmarked and assayed to determine the item is European/Continental Solid Silver. The outside of the antique Silver Box is in very good, very beautiful condition, with normal scratches. Some tarnish in areas that can be hand polished out. The Box measures 1 7/8" x 2 3/4" and 5/8" high. It weighs approximately 73.3 grams. The Box shows very well in the photos and even prettier and more detailed in person. The photographs were taken with and without a camera flash. Very pretty and very unusual Box! So much prettier in person!!
