Very pretty Georgian Period Cluster Brooch of with Foil Backed Yellow Glass Stones set in a Silver Gilt mounting. The yellow stones resemble Citrines. The cluster Georgian Foil Back Brooch takes its form from nature, in a flower cluster design. The Yellow Foil Backs Glass Stones are the petals and between each stone is a large round 'bead'. The Brooch measures 1 1/8" in diameter. Could easily be converted to a Pendant by a jeweler, by adding links to either side and chain. Interesting to note that foil back jewelry gained popularity during the Georgian period which gave the stone additional brilliance. The piece is in very good condition. The safety catch was changed at a much later date, which was common. The antique Georgian Glass Foiled Back Brooch is a stunning piece and prettier and more interesting in person! Photos taken with and without a camera flash. Bright and dark areas are reflections while being photographed.
