Large and stunning 950 Silver Coin Pendant, designed with a wide open-work Walls of Troy Pattern with an old Grecian Coin mounted in the center. The Silver Grecian Coin depicts a Cameo profile portrait of a Warrior with a Helmet. Believe the Coin represents Athena (God of Wisdom and Warfare). On the reverse side of the Coin, is an Owl, with AOE. The Owl on is possibly a representation of Athena & wisdom. The Owl is a form she was believed to have taken. Grecian Is an eye catching design and beautifully made. The mounting of the Coin is very well designed, as the silver prongs allow the Coin to nearly free-float inside the round opening, protecting it as well as framing it with little obstruction. The thickness of the Grecian Coin can be seen in our profile photograph. The frame fantastic and a wonderful compliment to the Coin. Each compliment one another. The round frame is designed in a Walls of Troy pattern (cut out / open work). The frame is marked 950 on the reverse (950 is a higher purity of than Sterling Silver, as most Sterling tests to 925). The creation of the Coin Pendant dates to the early 20th Century. Is an important size Pendant, tremendous craftsmanship and striking to look at. And, is in beautiful, fine condition. The Pendant measures 1 3/4" in diameter. For other measurements and for closer views, please view our photos as enlargements. Photographs were taken with and without a camera flash.
