Stunning, large early Rose Diamond & 14K Gold Brooch with black enamel, in a large open-work ornate sunburst design, dating to circa: 1840. The early 19th Century antique 14K Gold & Diamond Brooch contains 9 prong mounted Rose Cut Diamonds, accented by round touches of Black Enamel. Very well made Brooch and the reverse is just as beautiful. The Brooch has the original C-Clasp. There is also a return so a Tassel, etc....could be worn from it. It is also possible to make this into a antique Rose Diamond Pendant by adding a link and chain. The Brooch measures approximately 1 1/2" in diameter. The Rose Cut Diamonds have a total approximate weight of 1 to 1.20 carats and the weight of the Brooch approximately 8.2 pennyweights (which is equal to 12.75 grams). The antique Gold, Enamel and Rose Diamond Sunburst Brooch was assayed to determine the carat at 14K. Is a fine and absolutely beautiful piece in very good condition. Shows very well in the photos and just as pretty in person.
