This antique original family coat of arms is done on heavy paper board with watercolors and gouache. The wonderful details and shading give this painting emphasis and depth and was certainly done by a very talented artist. The workmanship is exquisite. The paper has darkened as does paper under acidic conditions and there is some foxing. The crest is for the Barton and Larkins Family. We believe this piece was executed between 1850 and 1870. On the bottom of the crest are the words: Cresco calta. It measures 11" X 13". This family crest would be an excellent gift and would look wonderful framed.
