The earliest version of the Medaille d 'Amour pendant made by the French maker Alphonse Augis of Lyon.

Nicknamed the "Coin of Love" by its designer, Alphonse Augis, this round 18 karat yellow gold charm was inspired by the famous 1907 verse by Rosemonde Gerard who wrote "For you see, each day I love you more, today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow." It is the artistic rendition of the poem. The + is in diamonds and the - in rubies.

This is one of the earliest and most rare Medaille d' Amour displaying the words in a beautiful "script" writing. The plus sign in rose cut diamonds and the minus in Ruby Cabochons.

Hallmarks, the bail is hallmarked with the eagle and makers marks. Three punch-marks in total. The back is marked Depose.

Circa, 1900-1907. Absolutely beautiful.

Size, almost 1" (22mm) diameter approx.

Weight, 6.5 grams
