Rare indeed is this little hat! Measuring only 2 1/4" across from brim edge to edge and 1 1/4" across the interior, it is a masterpiece of construction. With tiny delicate strips of straw are HAND sewn - not machine sewn, which dates it to the last quarter of the 1800's, this tiny treasure is in almost mint condition - a term I use infrequently, which is as it should be. All is as it was these many years ago with only some shattering of the interior silk. The tiny, pale, pink paper rose buds are perfect as are the little leaves. Amazingly, the long 'train' of black netting has been untouched. If you have a 12" - 15" fashion lady who has always felt that 17" - 18" poupees' have all the good fortune with headgear, here is your chance to make her smile. My fashion model is 15" tall, but has a small head and sloping shoulders, so this could fit on a smaller doll.
