Truly not fabric you will see again for awhile. And it is in very good antique condition for being tissue silk. There are some scattered holes and a 2" tear on one sleeve. The fabric passes the tug test beautifully even around the small holes! The immediate area around the tear on the sleeve is fragile for about an inch. There might have been a stain that deteriorated the fabric in that one spot. There is quite a bit of fabric here for just a bodice. The sleeves are very full and are not tailored - just gathered at the wrist with two, narrow stitched pin tucks that run down 3/4" of the length of the arm. There is beautiful lace over cream silk that is also sturdy and several 19th century 2 wire hooks and eyes as well. The purple shade is darker and richer than the pictures show. This was a difficult color to capture. You will not be disappointed.
