To some collector's good fortune, the pending buyer of this little gem has moved her layaway to another doll in the shop! I am therefore more than excited that she is once more available. It always a pleasure when a doll with a rare body also has such an exceptionally lovely face. This 19" Tete Jumeau is simply perfection and beyond. Perfect bisque, perfect decoration and perfect costuming. The dress is made from 19th century taffeta and velvet in a thoroughly elegant shade of wine. The hat also is made from the same 19th century fabrics with jet beading, lace and a feather. Her underclothes are also antique as are her shoes. The parasol is beautiful but has damage and is for display purposes only. It is included with her as the picture cannot be marred. PLEASE do not miss the fur stole and matching fur trimmed gloves!! Her wig was also made from antique mohair wefts. From the top to the bottom, she is the absolute picture of Victorian grace. She has shallow flakes at the earring hole of both ears. With the earrings they are difficult to see. Her body is in very good condition. The composition lady body by Jumeau was made for a very short time and usually to make a 24" doll, so her size makes her even more desirable. A model not often seen and a beautiful one as well.
