Do you have a large early doll that could use a rest? This wonderful 19thc. chair was the honored seat for a 32" French Paper Mache that was NOT made for the French market. She had a wonderful jointed cloth body and she molded herself perfectly to it's contours and rested her arms regally as she regarded the world. As you can see, the chair has bent charmingly and uniformly [!] to one side. The cane seat has long gone and someone wrapped twine around the seat rungs and made a cushion. There are a few nails that were placed to tighten the rails and there is a hole in the middle of the top rail indicating that the chair was hung at the end of the evening. Measures 23' high and 12" across.
