This is a fabulous FANCY Victorian figural "Cupid Steering a Dove" vanity jar or pickle castor. The detail in this piece is amazing. What a wonderful piece to put on a vanity with cotton pads or Q-tips! Also, this would be an outstanding addition to a collectors collection of pickle castors. The jar and frame are WONDERFUL!! The jar fits PERFECTLY in the frame. Great Condition - No Chips, Cracks Or Repairs. Also, no missing silverplate noted. This base bears the Meriden Co, Mark for before 1866 and the pattern #0186. This is an altogether lovely piece that would make a wonderful vanity items, or a great addition to any art glass collection! This wonderful item measures approximately 11 1/4" tall when the jar and lid is in place and approximately 5" wide. The jar is approximately 3 1/4 in diameter. This appears to have been someone's prized possession and extremely well taken care of!
