This is a RARE Aesthetic Pickle Caster with an outstanding triple cased and hand painted glass jar. The glass is most likely Mt. Washington. This one has so many things going for it! The jars we usually find are "mold blown or poured" - but this one is not - it is a wonderful hand blown, triple cased and hand painted jar. The jar fits perfectly into the frame. The jar and the frame are in great shape. The matching tongs are included. If you didn't want to use this for pickles – it makes a WONDERFUL candy jar!!! Measures approximately 8 3/4” tall and 5 1/2 wide (widest points). It is marked on the bottom with the Pelton Bros Quadruple Marking for the 1880's and marked with pattern number 668.
About the maker: Pelton Bros. Silver Plate Co. was located in St. Louis Missouri and seems to have existed from 1872 to 1900. It was managed for a time by Philip S.Pelton.
