These Circa 1850 Rococo Victorian chairs are laminated rosewood and attributed to J&JW Meeks, New York City. These are companion chairs for Meeks' Henry Ford and the Hawkins patterns, well carved scrolls and florals in reticulated and deeply curved laminated back, serpentine shaped and curved skirt, carved cabriole legs, like brand new upholstery. These are high end authentic Meeks parlor chairs with open carved backs. Exceptional and solid, with no repairs, condition issues or restorations noted. These carved back chairs were used in most rooms of a fine home on either side of an elaborate Victorian etagere in the hall, paired on either side of a game table, used in a bedroom as an occasional chair in the bedroom. The table in the last picture is not included with these chairs but will be listed separately. The price listed is for the PAIR of chairs.
