This wonderful quartersawn oak game table stands 32" high and has a removable 42" diameter oak top. Removing the top exposes a wonderful game/card playing surface. The inner hinged felt covered surface lifts to expose wonderful storage areas for cards, chips, etc. Additionally, around the circumference of the inner top are located 7 cubbyholes for card and money storage, as well as coin storage areas. Additionally, there is a "bank" area with a slot. All in all, it is a wonderful playing and storage area. The pedestal supporting the table is a great example of acanthus carving, and attached to it are the 4 long sweeping claw footed legs which are wonderfully carved at their tops and at their feet. Each foot has 5 toes and toe nails. This is a wonderfully designed and useful game and breakfast table. This is one of two identical tables from my collection. I sold the other several years ago, and for those who have an interest, it had an R.J.Horner label. I have no doubt about the origin of this great table.
