Very fine and rare old 1893 chromolithograph from the watercolor painting collection "The World's Fair in Water Colors" by C. Graham. The Great World Fair of 1892-1893, The Columbian Exposition. The painting featured is "The Yerkes Telescope." The image is in excellent condition, the sheet has some wear and the slightest discoloration. There is minor wear to the edges and corners of the sheet in addition to a fair sized corner missing. Full Sheet Dimensions: 8-7/8" x 11-7/8". "The Yerkes Telescope - The great Telescope, which is the gift of Mr. Charles T. Yerkes, of Chicago, to the University of Chicago, is in the north end of the Manufactures and Liberal Arts building, near the Japanese pavilion. Mr. Yerkes gave the University permission to purchase the largest and most perfect instrument which could be manufactured. As a result, the subject of this illustration is the greatest Telescope in the world."
