Jelly or honey pot dish made from plated silver and red glass, very rare and exquisitely crafted into the shape of a firefly. The firefly features red glass dish with plated silver body, legs, and wings. The wings are hinged and lift to reveal the jelly dish and feature a slot for the spoon. The piece is signed on the underside of the wings: "TRIPLE DEPOSIT Mappin & Webb's Prince's Plate London & Sheffield (letter 'f' in s shield) W11518." Also signed: "NE 255 (hallmark) Fabrication Anglaise." The spoon is also stamped, but does not appear to be the original matching spoon; the spoon is stamped: "Samborns Mexico" in addition to other worn markings. This piece is in excellent condition!
