This is a very nice Navajo style ceremonial basket with a light coil weaving texture. It is simply decorated with traditional green, red, and black dyed materials. The basket is a nice size and relatively shallow: the measurements are 11-3/4" diameter and about 2-1/2" in height. The top side of the basket has a finished look with little wear, there are a few strands here and there that have frayed slightly, but no damage. The bottom of the basket appears slightly less finished and is not as tightly woven. The pedestal is very simply woven and not perfectly fitting, unsure if it was added later or is original. The basket is in very good vintage condition with a little wear, there is no evidence of damage. *Please check back with us as we will continue to post Native American style baskets and other artifacts.
