This fantastic large Hopi-style is tightly woven dried yucca that with a poly-chromatic tribal motif picturing a five-point star in the center surrounded by a nine-point sun burst as well as figures that could be butterflies (see photos). The material used appears to be bleached and dyed yucca in red/orange and grey/black. The basket is relatively large and shallow: the measurements are 16-1/4" diameter and about 3" in height. The top side of the basket has a finished look with little wear, there are a few strands here and there that have frayed slightly, but no damage. The bottom of the basket appears less finished, looks rough, and is not as tightly woven. The basket is in very good vintage condition with a little wear, there is no evidence of damage. *Please check back with us as we will continue to post Native American style baskets and other artifacts.
