An open rectangular form with a central stylized tulip, this modernist sterling silver brooch for David Andersen by Harry Sorby was designed in the early 1960's. With a turquoise colored cabochon Amazonite, the pin measures about 2" x 2". In excellent condition, it is hallmarked on the back DA in a rectangle, 925S in a longer rectangle and two scales in another rectangle. Under this is Norway Sterling and below this in another rectangle are the letters INV H.S. The brooch locks securely with a locking swivel clasp. Simple yet elegant, this is a pin that can be worn throughout the year.
