With graceful and elegant movement, this miniature enameled nouveau brooch in 14K yellow gold portrays an opening pearl bud with peach enamel petals and spring green leaves resting on a crescent moon shape. Measuring 1 1/16"x 1/4", this small gem was likely a collar pin. The enameling has a lovely translucence and in very good condition. The back of the blossom is hallmarked with the Krementz anvil and 14K on the "C" clasp. Founded in 1866 out of Newark, New Jersey, the Krementz company specialized in both fine and costume jewelry. During the turn of the century, they were one of the best designers of collar buttons and fine enamel work. Today, they are still manufacturing, but their early pieces of art nouveau are highly prized and sought after by collectors.
